I want both of us to feel ALIVE during each class! Kind of like an adventure.
For beginners, I want you to be comfortable interacting with a native speaker. Through these lessons, I hope to improve your listening and speaking skills. New vocabulary and grammar are NOT the main focus of these lessons - these are SUPPLEMENTAL lessons ONLY.
For advanced speakers (usually adults), I want you to be able to take all of the knowledge you have accumulated over your years of learning and combine it into meaningful conversations and activities! We can talk about US culture, science, your hobbies, etc.
I normally do not rely on a specific textbook. Instead, I normally like to find worksheets, web pages, etc. that may be useful to you.
I started out teaching English to elementary school students in Shenzhen, China. We would try to have fun games and activities, such as acting out scenarios, or a "rock paper scissors" competition.
