I was always the most active and talkative kid when I was in primary school, I could never remain seated and quiet for more than 30 minutes. I had a very hard time concentrating on my work and that's very fatal under the Hong Kong educational system, which always requires tons of readings and basically learns everything by rote. As a matter of course, I was never a "good" student and I never would have imagined myself in college. Who would believe I ended up being a college student majoring in philosophy & economics, in other words, someone who'll have to sit still the whole day just read and write. After I had graduated from high school in Hong Kong, I came all the way from Hong Kong to the US alone, trying to figure everything out by myself. It's a whole new world for me, a very messy one. There's no magical turning point in this ordinary story of this ordinary kid. I just happened to find the way that suits me best, I found a better me in this irregularity, infinite potentials lying inside my soul. The inferiority of being different had been erased since I realized that learning can actually be interesting and relaxing. It opens to everyone. All roads lead to Rome. No matter who you are, where you are at, language connects us. We're all ordinary but unique, we can all archive our goals with our path and pace.
